What we like

The Polestar 4’s interior is a genuinely lovely place to be, with a calming Scandinavian vibe, quality materials and plenty of tech that doesn’t overwhelm. Out on the road, it’s polished and composed, delivering brisk performance whether you choose one or two motors. The impressive range makes longer trips far less stressful, and there’s a generous amount of standard equipment that helps justify the premium price tag.

What we don’t like

Despite being quite a large car, the Polestar 4’s boot isn’t as big as you’d hope for an SUV, which could frustrate family buyers. Inside, while the big touchscreen looks great, it means too many basic functions are hidden behind menus when physical buttons would be quicker and safer. And for all its pace, the Polestar 4 just isn’t as grin-inducing or playful to drive as something like a Porsche Macan.
