Renault Megane Coupe: equipment and options

The Dynamique TomTom

We chose a mid-level Dynamique TomTom version of the Megane Coupe in the striking Capsicum Red paintwork, which although non-metallic, really suits the sleek look of the Renault.

Prices start at around £16,500 (for the 1.6-litre Expression) but our car comes in at a rather more pricey £20,307 - and that's without the optional extras fitted which add a further £850. However, it is well equipped and it's worth noting that the dCi 130 is the most expensive engine choice available with the Dynamique trim.

The TomTom edition adds the integrated Carminat TomTom sat nav system. Since the Megane Coupe was launched, the trims have changed so Dynamique and Privilege both now come with the TomTom as standard.

Other standard equipment on our car includes:

Equipment Standard Optional Cost
16-inch 'Sport' alloy wheels Yes -
Air conditioning Yes -
Electric front windows Yes -
Front fog lights Yes -
Automatic headlights and wipers Yes -
Keyless Renault card Yes -
Cruise control and speed limiter Yes -
CD stereo with Bluetooth Yes -
Electric, heated folding door mirrors No £153
17-inch alloy wheels No £307
Dual zone climate control No £409

That's certainly a good level of kit and makes the Megane Coupe look decent value. The one item that's not fitted are rear parking sensors - and this was something I noticed almost immediately. They are available as an option at £307 and they seem worth it as judging the back of the Megane in tight spaces can be tricky.
