It is easy to find a comfortable driving position in the Scenic and we like the high placed gear lever, dashtop digital display and electric handbrake. Overall build quality is very good and most of the materials used are soft touch, however there are a few areas where it feels a little cheap and cars with lighter trim show scuffs and marks easily. The steering wheel stalks can be a little complex too as the twist, flick and push controls can be difficult to memorise and are out of sight.

The airy cabin is helped by large glass areas while there’s an optional panoramic roof that allows even more light in. Thanks to good ride quality the Scenic is comfortable and quiet – especially on the motorway, plus there’s a surprising amount of room in the back with space for three passengers along with good legroom and ample shoulder space. However some of the smaller petrol engines can be a little noisy, especially when driven hard.
