Rolls-Royce Phantom verdict
The Parkers Verdict
The Rolls-Royce Phantom can justifiably claim to be the best car in the world – something that you'd not necessarily say about older cars from the stable. The Bentley Mulsanne and top-end Mercedes-Benz Maybach S-Class don’t even come close to the Phantom’s impressive blend of comfort, opulence, craftsmanship and sheer road presence.
You pay for the privilege though. At £360,000 from launch, the Phantom’s price is on a different plane to those mentioned above. And that's before options. Few people leave their Phantom unmodified.
Consider that Rolls-Royce says that some people may spend more than a million pounds on their Phantom, comments about list price, and running costs become largely irrelevant.
