What is miles per pound?

Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 44 - 80 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

The Ibiza Sport Coupe is a quality product and represents good value compared to many other small hatchbacks. As well as modest fuel consumption, insurance groups are low plus with major services every 20,000 miles it shouldn’t break the bank. It should depreciate slower than some of the higher volume models in its class, such as the Vauxhall Corsa, Renault Clio and Ford Fiesta.

Thanks to efficient, small engines the Ibiza performs competitively on the eco-front with average emissions of 151g/km of CO2 across the range. The greenest model is the Ecomotive 1.4 TDI which emits just 98g/km of CO2 and is capable of 76mpg.

Many of the components in the Ibiza are used in other cars, such as the Skoda Fabia and Volkswagen Polo, so they are well developed and shouldn’t cause any major problems.
