Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 34 - 34 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

The Leon Cupra R averages an impressive claimed 34.9mpg while rivals including the Focus RS and the Volkswagen Golf R average 31 and 33mpg respectively. Servicing costs and the price of consumables should also be low when comparing it to the Audi S3 and the Volkswagen Golf R.

The Cupra R emits 190g/km of C02, this places the car in band F and showroom tax will be high for this performance model.

SEAT has a good record when it comes to reliability. What's more, this engine is used in the VW Golf R, VW Scirocco R and the Audi S3 and has already proven to be a trusty power source.
