Skoda Kodiaq verdict
Is it any good?
Yes. If you approach the Skoda Kodiaq expecting it to be a premium product to rival more expensive German alternatives you’ll be disappointed by its lack of plushness and pampering. And if you expect it to be a sporty back-road scorcher, you’ve very much come to the wrong place.
But take the Kodiaq for what it is, and it’s a lovely package – better in every way than its predecessor, unless its 61mm increase in length is going to make it tricky for you to park.
The interior is very agreeable, with so many neat little user-friendly features. The hush of the cabin is remarkable, even in diesel versions. And the vast roominess will make family holidays a breeze.
Upcoming versions will doubtless be sharper and faster, but they’ll also be more expensive. For now, the new Kodiaq a trustworthy, easygoing friend of the family.
