Skoda Octavia Estate (1998 - 2005) boot space, practicality and safety
Octavia achieved a four-Euro NCAP rating in 2001 and has dual airbags and ABS (except on base-level LXi) as standard; sidebags and traction control are fitted to higher spec models. Although fitted with strong deadlocks and an immobiliser, only higher-spec Octavias get an alarm.
It’s easy to load up, as the boot has a low lip and wide opening and can carry a substantial cargo. The rear seats fold flat for extra room, if it’s needed. This makes it an ideal car for the buyer who needs a car for work as well as family life. There’s also a reasonably-sized glovebox and cupholders in the front.
