The Ssangyong Rexton is a large people-carrier (or MPV) built by the Korean firm since 2001. It was based on the Mercedes-Benz M-Class platform internally dubbed ‘W163’. It was available with up to seven seats and represented a value proposition, taking on more expensive rivals such as the Kia Sorento, Nissan Patrol and Hyundai Terracan.

One of its strongest selling points was the fact that it had a 4x4 system which meant it was surprisingly capable off road.
