Overview

The Legacy has always been a good choice for those after something a little different to the usual estates. Like the majority of Subarus, it comes with all-wheel drive as standard, giving it great traction, while the neat styling helps it stand out from the crowd. It’s good to drive with powerful, punchy engines and still has the most traditional of Subaru traits – outstanding build quality It was facelifted in 2007 while in 2008 a long-overdue diesel engine joined the range, broadening the appeal of the model with the promise of more affordable running costs.

The diesel can be identified by an air-scoop in the bonnet which petrol versions lack.
