The wraparound dash seems to be a common theme on eco-friendly cars – just like the Honda Insight and Toyota Prius the Ampera has one too. Much of the interior is similar to the Vauxhall Insignia but the Ampera gets leather upholstery as standard. Interior materials are of a decent quality and the switchgear appears robust and we think it will stand the test of time.

Up front, the seats are very comfortable. Your back is well supported by bolstering and the side supports are more than enough to keep you in place. There is plenty of space for two adults in the rear. Road roar, tyre and wind noise is relative for a car of this size: it is quite well insulated.
