Volkswagen Sharan Estate boot space, practicality and safety
1995 - 2000

ABS on VR6. Driver’s airbag. Twin airbags available from Oct ’97. Gained a three-star Euro NCAP rating in 1999 (scores then were out of four). Immobiliser, alarm on some.
Sharan’s main party trick is the folding, removable seats. Smaller families may find it better to have one of the seven seats removed, as luggage space is tight. Light and airy with plenty of leg and shoulder room in the first two rows (it’s more restricted in the third row). Good stowage facilities.
