Should you buy one?

There are good ones and there are bad ones, as with any popular car. Reliability isn’t quite as top drawer as previous BMW’s, but they drive really well and generally come very tightly screwed together. High mileage isn’t usually a problem so long as the car has been serviced properly.

Reputable used car dealers and brand specific specialists are the best place to find a good one – just read their reviews and ask about. Generally, the BMW 1 Series is good fun to own and drive and not as expensive to run as you may think.
