BMW 3-Series Coupe (2006 - 2013) boot space, practicality and safety
The 3-Series Coupé comes with six airbags (front, side and curtain airbags) as standard along with electronic stability control and run-flat tyres. The brakes also resist fading (a reduction in performance caused by repeated heavy use) and the car comes with a brake wear display, which indicates the number of miles remaining before the brake pads need replacing.
The rear lights are made up of LEDs, which include a ‘brake force display’ function which increase the brightness in emergency braking to warn following drivers.
The 3-Series Coupé offers 440 litres of luggage space (430 litres in the 335i and 335d), which is good for a four-seat coupe and more than the Mercedes CLK (although smaller than the Audi A5). As a strict four-seater, there is a little room for storage between the two rear passengers, but the back seats do split and fold to extend luggage space. There is a storage compartment in the front armrest, the glovebox is a decent size and the door bins open outwards to improve access.
