Citroen has revealed prices for its all-new C5 Aircross SUV, with the range starting at £30,495 for the mild-hybrid petrol version. The reborn model will also be available as a pure electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid, with showroom arrivals expected from October 2025. The electric variant starts from £34,065, as part of Citroen’s ‘multi-energy’ strategy.

The C5 Aircross range consists of three trims – You!, Plus and Max – with the entry-level petrol hybrid getting 143hp from a 1.2-litre engine. The electric e-C5 Aircross delivers up to 228hp and an impressive 423-mile driving range from a 97kWh battery. All models feature generous kit, including a 13.0-inch touchscreen, with higher trims adding matrix LED lights, adaptive cruise, and heated, massaging seats.

Inside, the C5 Aircross is packed with tech and comfort features across the board. Every model gets wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Mid-range Plus trim adds a 180-degree reversing camera and 19-inch alloys, while Max models bring dual-zone climate control, adaptive cruise and a 360-degree camera system.

The design has taken a bold step forward, too. Citroen’s new styling language ditches curves for sharp edges and striking aero details, including a unique ‘light wing’ rear lamp signature. The SUV has grown significantly, offering class-leading rear legroom and a boot that’s among the biggest in the segment at 651 litres.

Citroen says the new SUV prioritises comfort and space, with a 651-litre boot, reclining rear seats, and its signature ‘progressive hydraulic cushion’ suspension. Buyers can order the new C5 Aircross now via Citroen UK retailers, or browse used examples of the outgoing model through Parkers cars for sale.

The new Citroen C5 Aircross certainly looks different to its rivals – and platform sharing cars from Peugeot and Vauxhall.

What this means for you

The C5 Aircross is one of the most affordable ways into a spacious hybrid or electric family SUV. With what promises to be a smooth ride, innovative suspension and huge boot, it’s an attractive package if comfort and practicality are top of your list. And let’s face it, on our pock-marked roads, that’s highly important.

Citroen’s move to offer a petrol hybrid, plug-in hybrid and two EV battery options in one model shows real commitment to buyer choice. If you’re not ready to go full EV, the PHEV claims 53 miles of electric range – ideal for commutes or school runs.

The bold design and focus on comfort also help this SUV stand out in a crowded market. If you’re considering rivals like the Toyota RAV4 or Peugeot 3008, it’s well worth a look. It shares a great deal of its platform-sharing tech with the Peugeot 3008 and Vauxhall Grandland, but like those two cars, the C5 Aircross is at least blessed with distinctive styling.

Editor’s view

I’ve always had a soft spot for Citroen doing things its own way, and the new C5 Aircross really plays up to that. It’s big, comfortable and quirky – and not afraid to offer something a little different to the usual crop of boxy SUVs. It’s a continuation of the existing format, but one that I hope will appeal to a wider audience.

What stands out is the thought put into comfort and ease of use. Features like reclining rear seats, a myriad of cabin storage options and that famed squashy suspension all help make family life a bit less stressful.

There’s no denying Citroen’s been in the doldrums lately, but this and the new C3 duo could be the start of something. Fingers crossed, because the C5 Aircross deserves to be on your shortlist if you’re in the market for something comfortable and practical.
