Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 42 - 78 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

The best model for low Citroen DS3 Cabrio running costs is the lower-powered 1.2-litre petrol engine version. This emits 112g/km of CO2 so it’s cheap to tax. Fuel economy is a claimed 58mpg on the combined cycle.

There’s no diesel option available at launch, which is a shame because a sub-100g/km version could significantly lower running costs.

Citroen DS3 Cabrio emissions don’t go as low as rivals since there’s no frugal diesel option to choose.

The cleanest model in the range is the lower-powered petrol engine, which returns 58mpg on the combined cycle while emitting 112g/km.

Citroen DS3 Cabrio reliability shouldn’t cause you too many headaches as long as you keep it serviced by a main dealer.

The DS3 it is based on has had a few recalls for issues, but nothing too major to worry about.
