Boot space and interior
The boot was a good size for a small car like this, though if you buy an entry-level Studio model you won’t get the useful 60/40 split folding seats, which limits its practicality. For models with the folding seats, it makes a pretty versatile car, capable of carrying large items plus it’s easy to load. Inside there’s a decent-sized glovebox and a few storage areas for odds and ends.
Safety
Rated as a four-star car in the Euro NCAP crash tests when new in 2002, the Fiesta offered good crash protection in its day. You get dual front airbags and ABS with electronic brake force distribution on every car while side airbags are optional. All cars have an immobiliser but only Style upwards gets remote central locking.
Ghia and Zetec S have an alarm.
