Should you buy one?

Yes, if you’re after a concierge-style ownership experience, and want to enjoy it in the most luxurious interior for your money. The GV60 shows that Genesis can do luxury differently. It’s aimed squarely at young professionals and it genuinely offers something different. Of course, a Kia EV6 is a better car objectively, but it doesn’t make you feel quite as special.

The GV60 is a superb effort and feels more premium than the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 because of the interior and buying experience. While its range and range predictor are among the best in the business.

The clean-slate EV paradigm shift for consumers means that the old, established brands are no longer an obvious choice. For Genesis to gain a foothold in the UK, the GV60 feels a perfect car, and an extremely credible one. Looking for something premium, electric and different? The GV60 is a good choice.

What we like

The Korean brand offers a personal assistant who will organise all of the boring maintenance stuff and you can sign up to a subscription based service that’ll cover you for everything. That really takes the drag out of ownership – and combined with that lovely interior, stand-out looks and impressive efficiency, make this a very appealing electric car.

What we don’t like

It’s a preference thing, but we wish it would handle with more precision and offer more feedback. It’s competent, but an EV6 shows it a clean pair of heels. It’s also expensive – a sin committed by many EVs – and you’ll need to be ready to constantly explain to curious onlookers what it actually is.
