What are the running costs?

The GV70 is to a pair of non-hybrid petrol and diesels right now, so you don’t have the option of a tax-busting plug-in hybrid (PHEV) – although an EV version called the GV70 Electrified is available.

The 200hp 2.2-litre four cylinder is the most efficient version on offer, with a real-world fuel economy figure in the low-40s. It also sits in the top 37% tax bracket for company car tax, so doesn’t really make sense to run on the firm, especially considering all of its major rivals offer PHEVs with far lower BIK payments.

There’s a 2.0-litre petrol engine available with 300hp on tap, but in testing we struggled to beat 25mpg – a poor result in today’s market. Where the GV70 does stand out is for value, as you . It undercuts most rivals, and since you get so much equipment as standard.

Servicing and warranty

The Genesis Care Plan is designed to take the pain out of car ownership, so all maintenance and inspection services are included with the price – and last for five years or 50,000 miles. This means regular oil, fluid and filter changes are included in the car’s purchase price, and you can even get replacement wiper blades fitted if they’re needed.

In addition, Genesis will come and collect your car for servicing and leave you with a courtesy car so that you’re not left immobile while yours is being worked on. The five-year Care Plan also includes five years of navigation and software updates, and connected services that will operate for the duration of the Care Plan, too.
