Euro NCAP awarded the Jazz four stars for occupant crash protection, three stars for child protection and three stars for pedestrian safety. All have dual airbags (and sidebags on SE Sport), and ABS.

Origami-like seats fold, tumble and can be stowed to create an exceptionally roomy interior (see the interior detail section of the gallery for a better idea of how it works). It’s possible to get a pushbike in the back – very impressive for such a small car – while passengers get plenty of head and legroom all round. There are even some useful cabin cubbies.
