Maserati MC20 verdict

Should you buy one?
Yes, you should. The Maserati MC20 might not be quite as polished as its rivals from Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren or Porsche, but it brings an awful lot of character, charm and excitement to the supercar segment. It’s raw and gruff – and I love it for that.
If you want a supercar to be seen in, you’re probably better off opting for the Huracan. If you’re looking for a more luxurious experience, try the McLaren Artura or one of the less hardcore versions of the Porsche 911. But if you want a supercar to get your blood pumping, you have to have an MC20.
What we like
This is a supercar you need to grab by the scruff of the neck and drive. The seating position is low, the steering is sharp and tactile and the performance is addictive. I love the old-school nature of the turbocharging and the slightly nervous attitude of the handling. It’s a proper thoroughbred.
What we don’t like
The interior is a bit of a let-down. If I was paying upwards of £200,000 for a supercar, I’d be annoyed to find out the cabin was full of Fiat and Alfa Romeo bits. The engine also doesn’t sound that special, even if it does produce a huge amount of power.
