Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 38 - 42 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Like the Micra hatchback, the C+C version is cheap to run. The extra weight of the folding roof does increase fuel consumption a little, but it’s still frugal, managing more than 40mpg. Nissan servicing is reasonably priced while insurance is low – between groups five and seven.

The Micra C+C is a fairly environmentally friendly choice for green buyers. With an average of 164g/km CO2 across the line-up, its emissions are relatively low for a small convertible. The 1.4-litre emits 158g/km of CO2 and returns 43mpg but the 1.6-litre is only fractionally worse, putting out 159g/km of CO2 and averaging 42mpg.

Folding hard-tops are complicated systems and have caused problems on other cars such as the Peugeot 206 CC. However, Nissan has a strong record for reliability and there have been no major issues with the C+C.
