Peugeot 3008: Clever details

Detail touches are a hit

Sometimes it's the smallest details that can make the biggest impression. This is especially true when it comes to cars aimed at the family market.

There's nothing worse than trying to handle a wriggling five year old while at the same time retrieving your shopping that has escaped from the carrier bags and scattered to the four corners of the boot. However, the people at Peugeot clearly have realised this and designed a car that overcomes these irritating problems.

The boot in particular is one place that proudly shows off Peugeot's cleverness. The split boot with its two floor approach may seem over complex, but it makes life incredibly simple. Shopping bags hang off the convenient hooks and lay on the second shelf meaning that not only do their contents not spill out but the bags don't swing back and forth smashing the contents as they alternatively hit the boot lid and the back of the rear seats.

Trips to DIY stores become a breeze as lowering bags of cement into the base of the boot simply requires opening the top tailgate lifting the second shelf up until it clicks open then lowering the bags onto the boot floor. There's none of this having to balance heavy bags or bulky items on one knee while trying to remove a shelf and open the lower bootlid.

Simple and hassle free ownership through well thought out details. Brilliant.
