Renault is introducing a new entry level trim on its Megane range that, with a special summer discount scheme, could mean savings of up to £3,000.
The Generation Megane replaces the previous Extreme trim level and is available to order now in either 1.6 petrol or a 1.5 diesel, both with a five-speed manual gearbox.
The Generation trim is £860 less, but with Renault's 'Vive Le Summer' promotion the entry level 1.6-litre petrol will cost £10,995 - £3,000 less than the equivalent Extreme. The offer is available to retail cash buyers until the end of September.
Renault says it hasn't skimped the Generation's equipment levels. It includes a CD with fingertip remote controls and aux input, air conditioning, cruise control, electric door mirrors and front windows, ESC, handsfree keycard and speed limiter.
