It's been ten years since the G-Class was on sale in the UK, but Mercedes-Benz has announced that the luxury off-roader will be returning this autumn.

Things haven't really changed on the looks front and buyers will only get the choice of two engines.

The entry-level choice is the 350 CDI with a power output of 221bhp that offers 25mpg. The range-topping choice is the 55 AMG Kompressor version that produces 500bhp and will do the 0-62mph in 5.5 seconds, but will set you back a ridiculous £114,975.

There will also be the commercial version, the 300 CDI Professional. The manufacturer claims that this version will offer specific equipment levels to combine the off-road capabilities along with working practicality.

As you'd expect from the manufacturer the car comes well equipped including luxury leather upholstery, heated seats and parking sensors. There is also low-ratio transfer box and full locking differential when it needs to tackle tough terrain.

However, it won't be the easiest car to get hold of as all three models will only be available from the Specialist Products Division at Mercedes-Benz World at Brooklands.

The G-Class will go on sale in autumn with prices starting at £57,975 for the commercial version and £79,975 for the 350 CDI passenger option.
