Mitsubishi has announced pricing and a new specification for the face-lifted 4x4 Outlander.

The first trim level to enter the line-up will be the Juro special edition and it will be available from July 1, 2010.

On the outside the tweaks are subtle. Mitsubishi has given the 4x4 a new grille in line with new Lancer Evolution, Lancer and Colt models. The door mirrors are colour coded and have indicators built-in and there are chrome bezels for the front fog lights.

The interior has also been upgraded. The new Outlander has a faux-leather material on its dash and door panels.

New features include a twin-clutch Sports Shift Transmission (SST), which has been previously seen on the Lancer Evolution and Lancer Ralliart models. This is where the automatic gearbox uses two clutches, one to engage the gear in use, the other to pre-select the next gear required, which ensures that the gear change takes place instantaneously. This reduces C02 emissions and power loss through the range.

Other features include a hill start assist to prevent the vehicle from slipping backwards on steep slopes and an emergency stop signal system. This detects severe braking to engage the hazard warning lights and also increases braking efficiency.

The first new Outlander derivative will be the Juro Special Edition. Under the bonnet, the 2.2-litre diesel engine will be available with a choice of manual or SST gearbox.

The new Outlander Juro will start from a price of £25,999 for the Outlander 2.2 DI-D Juro with the manual gearbox, while the SST version will start from £27,199.

Mitsubishi has confirmed that other trim levels will be available on the Outlander model from October 1 2010. The line-up will be simplified and will mirror the current Equippe, Warrior and Elegance range. Prices for the remainder of the Outlander line-up will be confirmed closer to launch.
