Vauxhall Astra VXR Arctic Edition

In cash terms it costs you more than the regular Astra VXR but with the extras you actually end up saving around £1,200. You best be quick though because, with only 500 available, there may not be any left. If you want an Astra VXR that's a little different then this is the car for you.

Extras over standard model: Olympic white paint, contrasting black details, red leather seats, electrically heated seats, centre rear seat restraint, front passenger seat height adjuster, black 19" alloys

Nissan 370Z 'Black' edition

Built to commemorate the 40th year of the Z badge (remember the Datsun 240Z?) Nissan has built - you guessed it - 370 of the 'Black' models. How very clever. With the 'Black' you get a striking looking car and a built-in sat nav thrown in too.

Extras over standard model:

Extras: Connect premium (sat nav and music box), dark graphite 19" alloys, red interior and trim, red brake calipers, number plaque, free scratch-resistant metallic paint in two special colours

Price - £33,645

Standard GT price - £31,895

Equivalent GT price - £34,295

Vauxhall Corsa Black & White

It's a pretty tough job to make the Corsa look in any way sporty but Vauxhall has had a decent go at it with this version. The Black & White is ideal for the young driver after something that's cheap to run but also looks a bit sexy. It's perfect if you want the look of a VXR but not the high running costs. There's both the practical 1.2-litre petrol engine or the fuel-sipping 1.3 CDTi EcoFLEX version available in this trim.

Extras over standard model: Lowered suspension, VXR body kit, black and white interior detailing, alloy pedals, air con, cruise, CD stereo, climate, rear parking sensors, Bluetooth, 17" alloy wheels

Price - £13,995

Run quantity - six months

Standard Corsa price - £13,785

Equivalent Corsa price - £15,185

Renault Laguna Coupe Monaco GP dCi 180 FAP

Named after the track where Renault won Formula 1 races in 2004 and 2006, but really, forget the name and just look at the savings. This limited edition is actually cheaper than the straight standard Laguna GT and it's got extras. With all that taken into account you are saving more than £7,000 - great, but ignore the daft name.

Extras over standard model: Four-wheel steering, dark grey leather upholstery with Monaco GP logo and gloss white inserts for the dash, centre console and door panels, exclusive Pearl White paintwork and pearl white dash trims & centre console, 18" Interlagos alloys in satin black,  BOSE sound system and integrated Carminat TomTom satellite navigation, electrically adjustable, heated memory seats

Price - £24,995

Run quantity - N/A

Standard Laguna GT dCi price - £27,000

Equivalent GT dCi price - £32,200
