LF-NX Concept

LF-NX Concept

A new Lexus mid-size crossover concept, the LF-NX, has made its world debut at the Frankfurt show this year. Although not a production car, it represents the potential for this kind of vehicle to join the Lexus model range in the future.

Taking design cues from the newly launched Lexus IS, also on display at the show, the LF-NX concept has a striking face complimented by the trademark Lexus spindle grille and signature arrangement of the front lights.

The LF-NX combines a 2.-5-litre, four-cylinder cycle petrol engine with an electric motor, at lower speeds the LF-NX can be driven under electric motor power alone.

Lexus has fine-tuned its hybrid system to enhance the 4×4 performance for this concept and also features some next generation Lexus technology including touch-sensitive switches and a new touchpad Remote Touch Interface design.

Lexus GS 300h

Joining the LF-NX concept on the Lexus stand is the new GS 300h, a full hybrid that will be added to the new GS model range in the UK later this year.

The new GS 300h is powered by a second generation Lexus Hybrid Drive system, similar to that introduced in the IS 300h.

The full hybrid system comprises an electric motor and a 2.5-litre petrol engine which develops a total of 178bhp. CO2 emissions will start at 109g/km with combined cycle fuel consumption from 60.1mpg.

In styling terms, the GS 300h adopts the exterior design introduced by the GS 450h in 2012, LED fog lamps are now available for F Sport models and the option of 19-inch alloy wheels has been extended to Luxury grade versions of GS.

At the same time as Lexus adds the GS 300h to the range it also makes a new design shift lever and colour head-up display available for the GS 450h.
