Welcome to our coverage of the Frankfurt IAA – one of the biggest motor shows on earth.
Now in its 66th incarnation, this gargantuan automotive event can trace its roots right back to 1897 and the Hotel Bristol in Berlin. Back then only eight cars were shown, but you can expect rather more from this year’s show.
Some of the most important cars of the year break cover at shows like this, and throughout the day we’ll be bringing you the new metal just as soon as the covers are whipped off.
There are also some seriously interesting concept cars launched, and you can see our picks of the show in our concept car guide.
Keep checking back to this page as the day progresses and manufacturers take their turns to show off their wares.
