Cars on show: Initiale Paris Concept, Megane facelift

Megane Facelift (pictured above)

Renault has taken the wraps off an updated version of the popular Megane. The hatchback, estate and coupe versions have been given the same bumper and bonnet designs, bringing the cars’ appearance into line with newer Renault models such as the Clio.

There’s also a new 128bhp petrol engine available, which comes mated to the firm’s EDC automatic gearbox. Furthermore, Renault’s R-Link multimedia system comes to the Megane range for the first time.

Initiale Paris Concept

Renault Initiale Paris concept wisdom

Although definitely a concept car, the ‘Initiale Paris’ hints very strongly at what the next Espace people-carrier might look like.

Interestingly, Renault claims this car is capable of emissions of 40g/km of CO2, which means it is seriously efficient compared to much of today’s cars. It achieves this through clever engine technology and the use of lightweight materials.
