Following the success of the coupe version, Aston Martin has announced that its new V12 Vantage S Roadster will make its debut at Pebble Beach in mid-August. The asking price for its latest creation? £147,000.

This most powerful version of Aston’s smallest convertible boasts a 6.0-litre V12 engine producing a heavyweight 565bhp and 620Nm of torque. Unsurprisingly for a car with such credentials, performance figures are impressive with a theoretical top speed of 201mph, reaching 60mph from a standstill in 3.9 seconds.

Not that fuel efficiency is a primary concern when purchasing a car like this but on the combined cycle Aston Martin’s claiming an average of 19.2mpg.

The Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Roadster uses a seven-speed Sportshift III automated manual gearbox. Putting it into Sport mode offers faster gear changes and more control over the driving experience.

In terms of interior, the V12 Vantage S Roadster uses the familiar Aston Martin design. With colours such as black and navy blue, a feeling of stealth is created for the driver, although interior design is available in over 40 different accent finishes. Leather, thick stitching and high grade plastics generate a solid cabin feel.

Exterior features of the Vantage S Roadster include a fabric convertible roof, which takes just 14 seconds to open and can be operated at speeds of up to 30mph, a carbon fibre grille, and an optional choice of a carbon fibre coating around the wing mirrors, which is available in black, silver, or to match the exterior colour. More than 30 colours are available to choose from when personalising your exterior design.

‘Service Q’ is also available when purchasing a V12 Vantage S Roadster. Through this customising programme you are able to have more control over the appearance of the car, including unique shades of paint and leather colours on the inside, and the choice of more shades of paint for specific exterior features, such as the grille.

There are also many optional features that you can splash out on. These include: personalised sill plaques, front parking sensors, reverse parking camera, and Aston Martin tracking, which allows your car to be tracked throughout Europe for three years.
