2020 Skoda SE Drive models

If you're looking to option up your next Skoda, then may we suggest you pause that order and wait until mid-March. The company is launching a new SE Drive trim level, which adds upgraded tech and infotainment for less than it would cost if optioning up a standard SE model.

We're going to see more of these 'value added' model variants in 2020 across the industry as manufacturers try to maintain sales and market share in tough trading conditions. In Skoda's case, the approach is to add more equipment to the already well-equipped models in the range. Read on to see what you get with each model.

Skoda Fabia SE Drive details

Based on the Skoda Fabia SE model, the SE Drive gets you uprated 16-inch Aronia alloy wheels, front and rear parking sensors, an upgraded Amundsen sat-nav set-up with connected Infotainment and a year's subscription as standard.

In addition you also get a surround sound package with six speakers, air conditioning and a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel. The Fabia SE Drive is available with 60, 75 and 110hp engines, and costs from £18,290 cash.

Skoda Karoq SE Drive details

It's the same story with the Karoq – more equipment for slightly less money than you'd have paid if you'd optioned-up a standard SE. So, you get 17-inch Aero alloy wheels, ambient lighting, the Amundsen satellite navigation set-up with connected Infotainment, plus a colour trip computer and front and rear parking sensors as standard.

This adds up to £1,345 in options but the SE Drive is £855 more than the standard Skoda Karoq SE. It's available with two petrol engines (115 and 150hp) and two diesels (also 115 and 150hp). Cash prices range from £23,385 to £26,700. Check our leasing deals page for monthly prices.

Skoda Kodiaq SE Drive details

Finally, the Parkers award-winning Skoda Kodiaq receives the SE Drive treatment too. As before, it gets the Amundsen infotainment upgrade, parking camera and sensors, rear LED lights and 19-inch Aero alloy wheels.

It's available with the 1.5-litre 150hp petrol (manual or automatic) or the 2.0-litre 150hp diesel (automatic only), and you get £1,850-worth of options for £1,485 more cash. The cash prices are between £28,610 and £31,915. All SE Drive models are available to order now, with the deliveries commencing in mid-March.

What this means for you

If you're the sort of buyer who's looking to upgade your new Skoda with options, these updates are well-timed. Not only does it work out less costly to buy outright, but paying monthly for an off-the-shelf model works out considerably cheaper than adding options to a less-well specified model.

We suspect there's more to come, so keep an eye on out Deal Watch page to see if these models end up being discounted from their already competitive prices.
