Mercedes-Benz CLC Coupe (08-10) - rated 3.5 out of 5

When it went on sale in 2008, the Mercedes-Benz CLC was the cheapest coupe the firm sold.

But though its name was changed and there were over 1,000 new components engineered into the car, it was actually a major facelift of the C-Class Sports Coupe with some new engines.

Both front and rear ends were restyled, while the cabin was updated too.

With rivals including the Volvo C30, BMW 1 Series and Audi A3 Hatchback, this is a car that needed to be great to drive.
