Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 19 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

The Audi R8 GT Spyder’s running costs are not cheap but it is a relatively affordable supercar when you consider the competition. If you can afford to run the Audi R8 GT then you’ll not need to worry about the lowly 20.3mpg – in the real world you are more likely to get around 13mpg.

Audi R8 GT Spyder emissions are high at 323g/km but if you can afford to own this sort of car then you are not going to worry about the cost of the annual road tax.

Audi R8 GT Spyder reliability should prove to be as good as any other model in Audi’s line-up. Audi has a strong reputation for great build quality and reliability and its engines are pretty bulletproof. The switchgear feels solid and the plastics are soft to touch.
