What we like

For the money, the Dacia Sandero Stepway gives you a lot more car than any price-equivalent rival. Furthermore, the 8.0-inch infotainment system is easy to use and has all the features you really need, while the engines are willing enough if you don’t spend all day on the motorway.

What we don’t like

It’s not the safest option out there, the handling isn’t particularly sharp, and it can prove noisy when you work the engine hard.
