What is miles per pound?

Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 25 - 26 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Whichever way you look at it, Jaguar F-Type R Coupe running costs are high. The fuel economy, according to Jaguar, is 25.5mpg. We would suggest you’ll see closer to single-figures during proper, spirited driving though.

The same is true of car tax, insurance and servicing costs, though the latter can be reduced or at least planned for with Jaguar’s fixed-price servicing deals.

There’s just one engine on offer, so this is a bit of a moot point. Jaguar F-Type R Coupe emissions are pegged at 259g/km of CO2. That isn’t going to appease any rainforest enthusiasts, but did you really buy a car like this to save the environment?

While it’s an all-new car, we can give an educated guess that Jaguar F-Type R Coupe reliability shouldn’t be too much of an issue. The engine and gearbox have been tried and tested in other Jaguar vehicles and there haven’t been any major recalls for the Convertible version either.
