Nissan Qashqai: Driving it home

First impressions and the first few miles

Well the Qashqai is here and I've been looking forward to its arrival for a few weeks now.

The model I opted for is the 106bhp 1.5-litre diesel engine  (which is a higher-powered version of the same powerplant in the Nissan Micra I previously ran) in mid-level Acenta trim.

Qashqai Acenta models come with body coloured door handles and mirrors, a leather bound steering wheel and gearknob, rain-sensing wipers, automatic lighting, cruise control, rear parking sensors and air conditioning - so it's pretty well equipped.

I chose a nice metallic Blue paint, which Nissan calls Intense Blue and charges £435 extra for. I haven't seen too many Qashqais in this colour and I'm pleased it'll stand out in the car park and on the roads as a result.

Don't like it in blue? Take a look at the other colours available and tell me which one you prefer.
