The Citroen C5 range has received some midlife updates that include minor cosmetic changes as well as more efficient engines and the addition of the eTouch emergency system.
There have been updates to all of the engines to make them cleaner and more efficient. The 1.6-litre 155bhp petrol engine and the 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine with 240bhp have been redesigned, with fuel economy increasing from 39.8mpg to 42.2mpg and 38.2mpg to 39.2mpg respectively. The entry-level 1.6-litre diesel with 110bhp is capable of 56.5mpg combined.
The 1.6-litre diesel emits 129g/km of CO2 resulting in a company car tax band of 18%, while the 1.6-litre petrol emits 153g/km of CO2 meaning a company car tax band of 19%. The range-topping 3.0-litre diesel generates 189g/km of CO2 meaning a company car tax band of 29%.
Externally the model gets LED running lights that are integrated into the headlamps and tinted rear light clusters.
Standard equipment on all Exclusive models now includes the Citroen eTouch Emergency & Assistance System. This service automatically or manually makes emergency calls, using an inbuilt SIM card, for rapid response to an accident or if the car is immobilised. The system, which is free, also allows access to personalised servicing and maintenance information.
The model upgrades apply to both Saloon and Tourer versions and the cars are available from November 2010. The 1.6-litre diesel starts at £19,195, the 1.6-litre petrol at £20,795 and the 3.0-litre diesel costs £28,495. Tourer models command an extra £1,100 premium over the saloon.
