Vauxhall has unveiled a new Antara, with prices starting at under £20k.

The refreshed 4x4 is now available in two-wheel drive entry level format, with prices starting at £19,995 for a 2.2-litre CDTI 163bhp Exclusiv model. This represents a saving of £2,835 on the out-going cheapest model.

Exterior changes to the Antara include a revised front grille with the new larger Vauxhall badge, while SE models now get front foglights and 19-inch alloys as standard.

A new 2.2-litre diesel engine is also available, with outputs of 163bhp or 184bhp. The former is available in front-wheel drive with a six-speed manual gearbox or four-wheel drive with either manual or automatic six-speeds.

With the four-wheel drive models a clever system only engages the rear wheels when required, meaning not only does the Antara have off-road capability but can also save fuel during normal driving.

Inside there's a revised central console and interior lighting. An electronic handbrake, hill assist and a shift indicator are all now standard equipment.

The new Antara goes on sale next month.
