Renault is offering Megane hatchback drivers cheaper company car tax bills with a new budget entry-level model.

The Generation trim level replaces the Extreme spec and is priced from £13,995 - £860 cheaper than the out-going Extreme.

It is available with two engine options - a 1.6-litre 100bhp petrol or a 90bhp 1.5-litre diesel priced at £15,755.

Standard equipment on Megane Generation models includes a radio/CD with aux-in port and steering wheel mounted controls, air conditioning, cruise control, electric front windows and door mirrors, electronic stability control, hands-free ignition car and a speed limiter.

The Generation spec is only available on the five-door hatchback and not the three-door coupe or the Sport Tourer versions of the Megane.

Generation models are on sale now.
