Vauxhall has revealed details of another version of the Astra line-up - the Sports Tourer estate which is due to go on sale late this year.

Offering 500 litres of load space with the rear seats in place, 30 more than the previous version, the Astra Sports Tourer has more space than its Ford Focus estate rival.

With the rear seats folded flat, the Astra offers 1,550 litres - 25 litres more than the Focus.

The Sports Tourer comes fitted with a FlexFold system (optional on some models) which allows the rear seatbacks to be lowered at the press of a button.

It will make its debut at September's Paris Motor Show and will go on sale in the UK at the end of the year.

It will be launched with six engine options: 1.4 and 1.6-litre petrols with 100 and 115bhp, a 1.4 Turbo with 140bhp and two 1.7-litre turbodiesels with either 110 or 125bhp, and a 2.0-litre version with 160bhp.

An Ecoflex low emission will be added to the range soon after launch, and will be one of the first Vauxhalls to get stop-start technology.

Prices will be announced closer to the Sports Tourer's launch.
