The all-new third-generation Renault Twingo will be priced from £9495 when it goes on sales this September 2014.
Co-developed alongside the Smart ForTwo and ForFour, the all-new Renault also shares an unusual rear-engined, rear-wheel drive configuration that helps give the Renault city car a tiny turning circle of just 8.59 metres.
In the UK there’s the choice of two engines – a 69bhp 1.0-litre three-cylinder and a more powerful 89bhp 900cc turbocharged three-cylinder. Both are petrols and there isn’t a diesel option.
The more efficient 69bhp version (badged SCe 70) reaches the 0-62mph benchmark in 14.5 seconds and can average 62.8mpg while emitting 105g/km of CO2. For business users that equates to a 14% BIK tax band which means monthly tax bills could be as low as £22 a month.
Despite having more power, the smaller 89bhp engine (SCe 90) that sprints to 62mph in 10.8secs is more efficient, averaging 65.7mpg and emitting 99g/km of CO2.
Three trims are available, the Expression, Play and Dynamique with plenty of options like the £850 full-length electric folding fabric sunroof also available.
