Ford Mondeo: Defrost mode

Mondeo beats the big freeze

A standard feature of the third-generation Mondeo is a Quickclear windscreen.

All models have a set of very fine heating elements that are almost invisible in the windscreen.

It means that on the frosty mornings we've had recently, there's no need for messy de-icer - pushing a button on the dashboard results in the windscreen melting any ice so that you're able to drive away in about a minute.

This type of windscreen would be more costly to replace when damaged, but as winter started early this year it have been invaluable in making it easy to shift ice and frost on the car.

Certain Jaguar and Land Rover models are also available with a heated windscreen, and it can also be found on other cars in the Ford line-up.
