Audi A4 Avant 2.0 TDI Ultra (190bhp) Sport 5d S Tronic Owner Review

My criteria for buying another A4 Avant was a smooth quite comfortable driving experience on the motorways, plus reasonable handling, plenty of power, having been happy with previous models. Before buring form my Marshall Audi dealer I only went for a short ,test drive, and being south London, wasn't possible to test higher speeds, so didn't notice the road noise over around 50mph, and didn't notice this model not having lumber support adjustment ( resulting in a bad back), as my previous A4 had these or fold in mirrors, as I assumed they all would do, especially on a £30k car build in 2016. ! A week after taking ownership, I had a business trip round the M25 ( Orpington to Heathrow ), and couldn't believe the road and outside noises especially where the road surface changes, resulting into near impossible to hear the radio ( especially on the M25 concrete sections). I've never experienced this on an Audi before, and I contacted Marshalls to arrange a mechanic test drive. He checked the door seals, had a quick road test and said everything seemed normal, but mentioned I could try changing the tyres, which are the factory fitted Hankook Eventus Evo 225 x 50 R17's. I haven't done so yet as there's still loads of tread left, but I've noticed the door panels seems very light compared to previous models, and there's not just the tyre noise but also passing traffic, lorries and wind noise which concerns me. If this can't be rectified, I will have to sadly trade car in and loose money for something more comfortable. I'm happy with the engine / power / handling etc., but Its a shame Audi have seemed to cut the quality and sound insulation and driver convenience on these models presumably to save money, so I certainly wouldn't buy another one.
