In their own words

My model is the 140hp model... Which is surprisingly quick / feels quick ! Although this is due to the surge of torque from the PD engine and typically a diesel engine.... Mid range torque is sufficient for overtaking. Hard acceleration from a standstill can be an interesting, neck snapping experience from the delayed turbo lag followed by a rush of torque throwing you into your seat! Fuel is averaging around 47 MPG mixed driving and costs me roughly 11.5 per mile down here (in Hertfordshire). I purchased the car in March 2016 for £3795 with full service history and 122,000 miles on the clock.... 10 months on the clock now shows 138,000 .... 16000 miles roughly 1600 per month ... so 20000 miles a year I think by March! The cambelt is due for replacement at 150000.. Previously done at 75000 so il get it done at 145000 maybe... My model is the BRE which I understand can be susceptible to oil pump failure, something to do with a hex drive that wears and slips , resulting in engine failure. No issues yet though! The oil gets changed every 8000 miles using manufactures recommended Castrol Edge 5w 30! This particular engine also suffers from a slightly lumpy idle which some say could be related to the EGR valve however mine is clean and fully operational! I have driven two different BRE engine vehicles and both suffered from this slight lumpiness... It doesn't bother me and in no way affects performance! However this lumpy idle could also be a result of a duel mass flywheel breakdown as I know audi manufactured them to fail! However I will continue to use the vehicle until it worsens or clutch required.... All in all a very reliable car that suffers from minor teething problems, but I conduct all my own maintenance to avoid being ripped off ! If you are not handy, taking it to the dealers for servicing could be expensive! Unfortunately the two things I will not undertake are the Clutch and flywheel or Cambelt ... ;-) which will cost £500 pound each (roughly)... so it is key to not let these land at the same time!! Handling of the S-line model and its sports suspension is awesome! As is audi's ESP control ... The car feels as if it would never let go on the bends!... My advice is go and get one!

How reliable do you find the car?

Minor issue with internally cabin heat. Turns out heater matrix ad coolant system required a clean out and fresh install. Important to use Manufactures coolant ...
