Overall, the 1 series is a great all round car. It is great to drive, reasonably practical and also very economical. If you want a bit of everything, this car is definitely for you. While other cars in the segment might tick 2 out of 3 boxes better than this car, nobody ticks all 3 boxes well, making this car a great buy! I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. The only things to consider are that BMW servicing and OEM parts are expensive, so, keeping this car very late into its life might not be a good idea.
How reliable do you find the car?
In 70k+ miles, car has not needed any out of schedule work. What's even better is the long service intervals by BMW. Although main dealer servicing is expensive, it still makes running the car surprisingly affordable for a premium car.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
While rear passenger space in the car is not fantastic, it can still seat 4 in comfort and 5 with some difficulty. Front seats are great, very supportive and very comfortable on long journeys. In terms of driver engagement, this car is second to none in this segment. Going round bends on A&B roads are a joy to behold and puts a smile on your face!About their car
