What does this car say about you?

That I have no imagination? (It's a BMW - yawn) That I am mad? (It's a diesel convertible). That I love my wife? (I tell myself I bought it for her).

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Don't care. I like cars and I buy them for me (on the pretence that they are for my wife). Nuts to everyone else.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I would, but I can't: It's not made anymore, and anyway, I am poor now.

What are you likely to buy next?

She would like a Mini Cooper S next time.

Did you get a good deal and why?

The last E46 Cabrio in Italy. I got a HUGE HUGE HUGE discount AND two years insurance and 60.000 miles maintanence thrown in.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I bought it for my wife who had a 318Ci Cabrio and wanted a bit more ooomph. I wanted a diesel to save some money (diesel costs less than petrol here in Italy)

What was the dealer like?

It's the fourth car I have bought from them, every sale is preceeded by weeks of enjoyable camel trading. The post sales service is always shocking, but they are getting better.

What's it like to drive?

One word: Heavy. A bit of a truck, actually.

What's it like to park?

Roof off, a cinch. Roof on, pretty easy. It has a short boot, the nose is easy to judge.

Have you had any problems with the car?

It has a water leak.

What's most practical about your car?

Believe it or not, it gets used as a family car. I has a good boot, space for two small children and it has a hardtop for the winter

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Probably the active Xenon lights
