Other BMW Z4 (2003 - 2008) models:

  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

You're a BMW 'M' car driver - It says that you like power/prestige over economy/sense - The car will get you looks from pedestrians through to Porsche drivers. Why? The car is extremely striking, has an 'M' badge, and is ultra-rare.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They love it - Except for one or two who can't get beyond the BMW badge to see that it is an excellent car. Silly people!

Would you buy this car again and why?

Unlike some previous sports cars I've owned, I have absolutely zero regrets with the Z4 M Coupe. Yes, I would buy it again!

What are you likely to buy next?

I'd love to see a Z4 M version of the 2009 Z4 - At this moment in time, that is probably the only car I can see replacing this one in the future.

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Didn't buy from a dealer

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £21,500

When did you buy the car?

    May 2009

Did you get a good deal and why?

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I felt that the previous car (RX-8) lacked the grunt necessary for a sports car.

    What was the dealer like?

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Absolutely fantastic - Whilst a little nose-heavy, the car handles like a dream; the bags of power on tap give a great sensation powering out of corners too.

    What's it like to park?

Not any more difficult than other coupes in my experience - The rear parking sensors do help, but as long as you have a reasonable idea of the dimensions of the car, you shouldn't have a hard time.

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

The Bluetooth (Telematics Control) module has developed a fault, but is being fixed for free under warranty.

What's most practical about your car?

It's got a seat for the driver - That's all you need in a sports car! ;) Joking aside, the boot is reasonably spacious for a Coupe. Certainly enough for a weekend trip or the weekly shopping.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Far too many to list on this car, and they're all great - I do love the heated seats and auto-dimming mirrors though.
