• Summary

What does this car say about you?

It says I have young children and lots of stuff to take with me.... Oh, and I like gadgets.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They think its a lovely car.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes for the comfort, size and practicality. No for the NCAP safety record (found this out after I bought it which wasn't wise I know!). Would like to see better safety results first. The big plus is the storage with stow n go - the car is so much tidier inside, even with 3 kids under 5.

What are you likely to buy next?

The same thing if they make it safer.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchise

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £10,500

When did you buy the car?

    October 2008

Did you get a good deal and why?

Paid the going rate at the time. Had reverse park sensors added and they gave a better trade in value for our Hyundai Trajet which lost thousands in only 3.5yrs of ownership!

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Stow n Go seating set it apart from any other car in its class. Traded in existing 7 seater (Hyundai).

    What was the dealer like?

Very smooth. Not so forthcoming on the NCAP information which may have persuaded us to choose a different car.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Plenty of power for such a big car but only Ltd version has traction control as standard. It's so heavy I fear loss of grip so you need to drive carefully. Lovely on the motorway, not so good round corners - soft suspension = excessive roll

    What's it like to park?

Easy with reverse sensors but it is an enormous car - the longest in a car park by a foot. Sliding doors great for getting the kids out in tighter spaces.

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Nothing mechanical. It has very soft suspension. As a result, the front of the car often scrapes the ground on speed bumps. This has damaged the plastic splash cover underneath the engine. It has no bearing on the running of the car thankfully but I'm sure it will be expensive to fix!

What's most practical about your car?

The stow n go seating and the hooks for shopping bags - they're everywhere which is great.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

I love the MPG calculator - keeps my foot off the accelerator (it's a juicy car). Reverse park sensors are a must. Cruise control nice on long journeys.
