• Summary

What does this car say about you?

Don't really care. I buy cars for practical reasons - I don't buy badges to impress the neighbours.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Love it. It's different and my girls can't wait to learn to drive in it.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Definitely although it's a shame that Daihatsu have pulled out of Europe for the time being. Maybe they'll come back as Toyota's budget brand (like Dacia & Datsun).

What are you likely to buy next?

Currently looking at a Mini to commute in.

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £6,000

When did you buy the car?

    May 2014

Did you get a good deal and why?

Exceptional deal. The dealer had taken it as a trade-in and it was advertised at a very good price. It was a genuine one-owner, low mileage vehicle with full service history.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    Needed an additional 'work' vehicle.

    What was the dealer like?

Fish Brothers in Swindon. The salesman seemed a bit lethargic - but I didn't really need him as I knew what I wanted and could smell a good deal.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Exactly as the review says, it's a little bouncy and could do with a 6th gear. But it's a fun vehicle and gets lots of looks. The drive might get a bit tiresome if this was my only vehicle - but as little off-roader it's perfect.

    What's it like to park?

Very easy. Small footprint plus a high driving position make it very easy to manoeuvre and the turning circle is excellent.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Bit early to tell but as Daihatsu's parent company is Toyota I don't expect much to go wrong.

What's most practical about your car?

Off-road ability in a compact vehicle (but it's not too small like the Suzuki Jimny).

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

    Reversing sensors.
